We’re excited to introduce a new experience at Niskala Tours: the Chakra Healing & Mala Making Experience — a meaningful blend of energy healing and hands-on mala creation. In this blog, we’ll explain what the experience includes, how it works, and why it’s designed to support your personal energy and intention.
What Is the Chakra Reading & Mala Ritual?
This is not just a tour—it’s a guided inner journey. You’ll begin by sitting with your private chakra reader, who will gently tune into the energy flow within your chakras. Through intuitive connection and subtle body cues, they’ll assess which of your energy centers are open, which are underactive or blocked, and which may need support at this moment in your life.

Then, you’ll move into creation: You’ll be guided to select stones, each connected to one of the seven chakras, based on your personal reading. These stones will be added to a mala strung with Rudraksha beads—sacred seeds harvested in Bali, known for their calming and protective properties. By the end, you will hold in your hands a 108-bead mala, custom-made by you, for you—carrying the intention and energy of your own healing path.

What Is Rudraksha?
Rudraksha beads are sacred seeds from the Elaeocarpus ganitrus tree, traditionally found in the Himalayan region and Indonesia—and lovingly harvested here in Bali. In ancient yogic and Hindu traditions, Rudraksha is known as the “tears of Lord Shiva” and is deeply revered for its protective and spiritual qualities. Each Rudraksha bead is believed to carry its own vibrational field, supporting balance, clarity, and peace of mind. For centuries, sages and seekers have worn Rudraksha during meditation to shield the aura, calm the nervous system, and deepen spiritual practice. In your mala, Rudraksha serves as the foundation—the grounding base that holds the energy of your chosen chakra stones. It connects your intentions to ancient wisdom and to the living spirit of the land.
The Meaning Behind 108 Beads
You may be wondering—why exactly 108 beads? In many spiritual traditions, the number 108 is considered sacred and symbolic. It’s believed to represent the wholeness of existence—the union of the physical and the spiritual, the inner and the outer, the individual and the universe. Here are a few deeper meanings often associated with 108:
In yogic tradition, there are said to be 108 energy lines (nadis) converging at the heart chakra.
In astronomy, the distance between the Earth and the Sun is roughly 108 times the Sun’s diameter—echoing cosmic balance.
In Hindu and Buddhist prayer, malas are traditionally made with 108 beads to count mantras, each repetition a step toward spiritual awakening.
In numerology, 1 stands for unity, 0 for emptiness or completeness, and 8 for infinity.
When you use your mala, each bead becomes a breath, a word, a moment. Together, they form a cycle of presence—a full circle of intention and awareness.
How to Use Your Mala for Meditation
Your journey with your mala doesn’t end when you leave the Niskala experience—it truly begins. Now that you’ve created a mala infused with your energy and intention, you can use it as a meditation tool to deepen your practice and reconnect with your inner self. Here’s how to use it mindfully:
1. Set an Intention.
Start by tuning into what you need today—peace, grounding, clarity, love. Let your intention guide your session.
Choose a phrase that resonates with your energy.
3. Hold Your Mala with Presence
Sit comfortably and hold your mala in one hand, draped over a finger. Start at the bead next to the guru bead (the large central bead). You won’t count the guru bead—it represents your higher self or the divine.
4. Move Mindfully, One Bead at a Time
As you repeat your mantra—aloud or silently—use your fingers to move through each bead. Breathe naturally and allow your focus to rest fully on the repetition.
5. Complete the Circle
When you reach the last bead before the guru bead, pause. Sit in stillness for a few moments and reflect on the energy you cultivated.
